The support group began in September 2001 for purpose of offering; “Help and Hope to Survivors of Ovarian and Gynecologic Cancer”, their families and friends. 

We meet on the last Tuesday of the month at the Eau Gallie Library in Melbourne from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.  Beverages and finger foods are served.  This is a support group, there is no "admission charge", so feel free to bring family and friends with you and attend any time you like.

We are a diverse group spanning generations and backgrounds, which adds new perspective to our thinking.  We enjoy each other's company, share stories, concerns, celebrate each other's victories and gather strength when we need it.

We are fortunate to have three of the founders of our group: Alice Spinelli, ARNP, Terre Luce, ARNP, and Alice Robbins-Fox BSN, who is an Ovarian Cancer Survivor herself, with us at most of our group meetings.  We are extremely grateful for their leadership, compassion, commitment, medical expertise, their presence in our community, and their gentle nudges in the right direction

Most often, an educational program or activity is planned, but there are occasions when we have an "open meetings" and let the meeting flow in its own direction.  Our educational programs offer a wonderful opportunity for all of us; survivors, family, and friends to discuss various issues of treatment, chemotherapy side-effects we might be experiencing and how to deal with them, nutrition, new drugs, clinical trials, treatment programs and quality of life issues.

Rina Harrington has organized an informal Saturday Lunch Bunch, which also meets on a monthly basis, usually the second Saturday of every month.  There is no permanent location, so we lunch all around Brevard County.  We enjoy this opportunity to get to know each other and just talk over lunch.

2007 Planning Meeting
